After having recently returned to the touchlines earlier this month in his sides defeat to Swansea following a spell of self-isolation, recent events have become a very grim reading for both the Englishman and the club.

In an interview published on the club’s website, Moore broke the tragic news of having developed pneumonia as a result of the complications caused from Covid-19, which had further resulted in the formation of blood clots within his lungs. He further highlighted that he is gutted to be away from the touchline and the training ground but understood the severity of the situation and the course of action that now needs to be taken.

Following the development of recent events, no timescale has been put on Moore’s return, but it is most likely that the Englishman will most likely miss majority of the remaining five games that Sheffield Wednesday have to play.

The Owls were quick to highlight that since completing his self-isolation, Moore felt fully fit to assume his duties but ended up experiencing some discomfort post the club’s home game against Swansea. The club further made sure to convey their best wishes to the gaffer for a speedy and full recovery.

Currently eight points of from surviving relegation, the news has been greeted with widespread disappointment and sorrow across Sheffield, whose time in the Championship seems to be fast coming to an end this season.
